We’ve levelled up our celebrations for World Oceans Day this year. Not only are we returning with our massive Steam Sale with some mega bargains on games, but we have also launched our first Games For Waves Streaming Week! Read on to find out more and see how you can get involved:
Games For Waves Streaming Week
If you like playing games or streaming, then join us for World Oceans Day between 8th June – 15th June 2023. Stream your favourite games (or anything you want!) and raise vital funds to help us protect whales and dolphins.
Your support will help us protect these magnificent creatures from the many threats they face like pollution, hunting and whaling, accidental entanglement in fishing gear and captivity. Whales and dolphins deserve to live their lives safe and free but they are also vital to keeping the ocean, and the planet, healthy and helping us fight the climate crisis. We need them and they need you!
Head on over to our webpage for more info or join our Games for Waves Tiltify campaign now.
Don’t forget to join our Discord to connect with fellow ocean-loving streamers.
World Oceans Day Steam Sale
With an amazing collection of over 70 awesome games titles including Stardew Valley, Human: Fall Flat, Alba: A Wildlife Adventure, A Little to the Left, Call of the Sea, Mars Horizon and many more, our fantastic games partners are joining forces once again to stand up for the ocean and raise vital funds to protect the whales and dolphins who call it home.
From 6pm BST on Thursday 8th June until Thursday 15th June, you can grab some incredible discounts on 90+ games and support our conservation work at the same time – each released title will be donating a percentage of net developer profits directly to WDC’s conservation projects.
“Games truly do have the power to help save the world.” says Sally Ward, WDC senior partnerships officer, “It is no secret that games have made a significant impact on our conservation work. Our games industry partners and incredible streaming community have helped raise a total of over £3.5 million for WDC since 2014, helping to fund our work across the globe. I am so grateful and excited to see our friends and partners come together again for World Oceans Day.”
“With the amazing success of last year’s Steam sale, raising an incredible £40,000 for WDC, it was an obvious choice to continue supporting them again for this year’s Sale.” Says Kin James Fok, digital strategy manager at Curve Games “WDC work tirelessly to protect the ocean, and the whales and dolphins who call it home, and we know that collaborations like this not only make a really significant and positive impact on conservation, but we also see some of our best sales as a result. It’s a true collaboration and we are proud to be partnered with WDC.”
